Coast College small business expo. She has produced more than 4,000

events and specializes in high-end fund-raisers for nonprofit

organizations. She is also a small business owner ... Lance Corporal

Ian Voss of Newport Beach was deployed to Kuwait earlier this month

from March Air Force Base. A 2001 Corona del Mar High graduate, Voss,

was an eagle scout with Troop 90 at the Newport Beach Sea Scout Base.

He also attended Marine Military Academy in Texas during his junior

year of high school. He is a Marine Corps reservist in Charlie

Company, 1st Tank Division, in Twenty-nine Palms. He is the son of

Bruce and Robin Voss of Newport Beach and Marsha and Neal

Steinbrenner of Newport Coast ... Jan Pfeiffer has been named

executive chef of the Hilton Costa Mesa. He formerly served as the

food and beverage director at the Doubletree Golf resort in San

Diego. Pfeiffer has been with Hilton for about nine years. He

received his culinary training in Germany ... Navy Petty Officer 3rd

Class Thorin D. Mayba of Costa Mesa is on his sixth month of

deployment in the Persian Gulf, aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.

Mayba, a 1989 Estancia High School graduate, is one of more than

8,000 sailors and marines aboard the ships of the USS Abraham Lincoln

Carrier Battle Group ... Nancy Tachibana of Costa Mesa graduated in

June 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications management

from the DeVry University ... Brian Carlson, former food and beverage

manager at the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club, has returned to the club

as its general manger. He was most recently general manager of the

University Club of Pasadena.
