Police make arrests in drug bust
Laguna Beach narcotics detectives arrested three men in a
buy-and-bust operation at 2:31 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot behind
a Jack in the Box on South Coast Highway.
Travis Hill, 19, and Devin Guldemund, 19, were arrested on
suspicion of conspiracy, transporting a controlled substance and
agreeing to sell a controlled substance. Robert Mastrangelo, 18, was
arrested on suspicion of transporting a controlled substance.
“An informant provided information to narcotics detectives to buy
a certain amount of drugs,” Training Officer Matt August said. Six
officers participated in the bust.
A vehicle used in the commission of the crime was also seized and
will be held for a narcotics forfeiture, August said.
The drugs seized by police had not yet been identified and the
investigation is continuing.
“Our narcotics detectives, for us being such a small department,
do some really good work,” August said.
