Northwood has too many weapons for CdM, 60-45

Northwood High’s Timberwolves had four players in double figures

and, with a consistent attack, put away host Corona del Mar in

Pacific Coast League boys basketball Wednesday night, 60-45.

Drew Terry and Rob Selway led the winners with 17 points apiece for Coach Tim O’Brien, who has taken back the reins after heart

surgery in the fall.

Although the Sea Kings, 9-12, 2-3 in the PCL, could not turn the

corner, Coach Ryan Curry was nevertheless pleased with his team’s

effort.

“They did everything I asked them to do,” said Curry.

Individually, Bart Welch, who scored eight points and had seven

rebounds, was the catalyst with his intensity and consistency,

according to Curry.

Kevin Mancillas was CdM’s leading scorer with 16 points.

Northwood improves to 16-5, 5-0.
