The lessons of King?

The Laguna Coastline Pilot went to El Morro Elementary School and

asked fifth-graders in Leslie Maus’ class, ‘What lesson(s) has Martin

Luther King Jr. taught us?’

“He taught us to be kind to others and treat people the way you

want to be treated.”

SADIE

DRUCKER, 10

“He taught us that all men are created equal and shouldn’t be

judged by the color of their skin or their religion.”

MICHAEL MAXSENTI, 10

“That it’s not right to treat people a certain way because of the

color of their skin -- we shouldn’t treat people [a certain way]

because of what they look like.”
