Breaker girls earn water polo ranking

Two of Laguna Beach High’s winter athletic teams have gained

notice in CIF Southern Section poll voting.

The girls’ water polo team, which turned in a strong nonleague

season, came in at No. 5 in the latest Division II poll.

The division is headed by Pacific Coast League rival Corona del

Mar, whom the Breakers host on Wednesday.

Rounding out spots 2-4 were Canyon of Anaheim, PCL foe University

and Villa Park.

In the boys’ Division IV-AA basketball poll, Laguna Beach received

votes and just missed out on a top 10 spot.

All polls were released Monday by the Southern Section office.
