Ice Dogs hold off Blackhawks

Amanda Case netted two goals and assisted a third last weekend as
the Ice Dogs won their Norris Division opener by edging the
Blackhawks, 4-3.
Logan Favilla’s first-period goal began the Ice Dogs’ scoring, and
Jared Novakovich finished it by posting a third period goal.
Eric Aguayo recorded eight assists.
The Blackhawks’ scoring was spread among Nicole Chittum, Garrett
Smith and Aaron Baca-Chavez. Ian Arnold had an assist.
Arnold also had 13 saves in the net.

Slugs 4, Jr. Kings 1
Cody Nunes had 10 saves as the Slugs prevailed.
The Slugs’ scoring consisted of two goals by Michael Thomas and
one each by Alex Cook and Nathan Enright, with assists by Kyle
Hayashida and Garrett Cook.
Justin Williams helped the Kings avert a shutout with a
third-period goal and Timothy Francis had 17 saves.
Renegades 3, Big Dogs 1
A three-goal, first-period outburst lifted the Renegades to the
win.
Jacob Sabraw, Josh Duchon and Christian Weber each scored once,
and Nathaniel Hughes and Cory Cappon each had an assist.
Matt Bodziak recorded 16 saves.
David Mastro scored off a Max Serrels assist, and Jacob Otis
finished with 13 saves for the Big Dogs.
Phantoms 5, Hat Trix 5
Each team posted two overtime goals as the match ended in a
deadlock.
Andrew Mendoza led the Phantoms with three goals, and Ryan Schlerf
scored once.
Wesley Whitmer had 19 saves.
Nick Iacono and Max Olin each scored twice, Dylan Furr scored
once, and Ted Currie had one assist for the Hat Trix.
Avi Press finished with nine saves.
