CdM club team rides off with titles

Nicole Kim earned top individual honors to lead the Corona del Mar
High varsity club team to the overall title at separate
Interscholastic Equestrian League shows Saturday and Sunday at the
Oaks/Blenheim Riding Park.
Kim won the varsity individual overall title Saturday and Sunday,
while CdM teammate Anne Schroeder was second overall in Saturday’s
show.
Other varsity riders were Julie Koetting and Whitney Roy.
CdM also won the freshman team title both days, led by Katie Jones
and McKenna Forrest. Jones was second overall Saturday, while Forrest
won the overall title and the IEL Medal class Sunday, the latter
earning her a spot in the year-end IEL Medal championship. Jones was
second overall in the Sunday show.
Despite competing without Jessica Cardelucci, due to an injury,
the CdM junior varsity finished second in the overall team standings.
Jessica Janes and Laura Peck helped the CdM cause.
Tina DiSano, competing in dressage, was first in the Training
Level 4 class, second in the Training Level 3 class and second
overall in Saturday’s show. Sunday, she was first in Level 3 and
second in Level 4.
Katie Wade also competed for CdM in the western novice division.
