Three families lost their homes last week, when a fire raced
through a four-unit apartment complex in Huntington Beach.
Firefighters responded at 4:47 p.m. on Jan. 2 to reports of fire
at the complex, which is in the 7500 block of Volga Circle.
Thirty-seven firefighters doused the fire, which had spread to two
adjoining units, in less than 30-minutes, Huntington Beach Fire Capt.
Dave McBride said.
The fire was under control by 5:13 p.m.
The three families displaced by the fire were being assisted by
the American Red Cross.
Approximately $150,000 in damage was caused to the apartment
structure. Property loss amounted to about $70,000, McBride said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
