HB South Chargers down tall Tustin
Putting forth their best effort of the 2002-03 season, the HB
South Chargers overcame Tustin’s height advantage Sunday to post a
51-47 victory in a National Junior Basketball boys’ sixth-grade
All-Net Division contest.
The back-and-forth contest tilted in HB South’s favor when Austin
Prather knocked down a three-point basket with two minutes remaining
to put the Chargers up by three.
From there, the clutch free-throw shooting of Connor Hughes and
Sean Guite sealed the victory.
Prather finished the game with 13 points to lead HB South, Hughes
had 10 points, and Cole Farmer had his usual big game with nine
points while leading the team in the rebounding department.
Scott Marcin came up with several key blocks down the stretch, and
Doug Hansen, Terry Zant and Sal Lacavera each hit key baskets for the
Chargers.
