Orange Coast sweeps Dons

SANTA ANA -- The Orange Coast College men’s and women’s basketball

teams had their way at Santa Ana College Wednesday, putting the Dons

away on the men’s level, 89-80, and finishing off the women, 75-39.

Both were Orange Empire Conference openers.

Stephon Seales paced Coast (12-5, 1-0 in the OEC) with 16 points,

and Lanier Brown (14), B. Bobick (14) and Alfonso James (11) were

also in double figures. Santa Ana fell to 11-8, 0-1.

In the women’s game, Alisa Carrillo had 15 points and seven

rebounds for the Pirates (16-3), who also got 12 points apiece from

Liz Mendoza (12 boards and five assists), Nancy Hatsushi (six

assists) and Lindsey Galasso.

Santa Ana fell to 2-8.
