Newport Harbor thumps Orange

NEWPORT BEACH -- Newport Harbor High’s wrestling team was a 56-24
winner over nonleague foe Orange Wednesday night, the first dual meet
victory on the Sailors’ mats in the past four years.
Nate Geier paved the way with a pin in 1:08 to improve to 12-3.
Other winners for the Sailors were Kim Lim at 112 with a technical
fall (16-0), Jon Rolsheim at 125 with a pin in 3:30; Tony Pinon with
a technical fall (18-2) at 152; Jeff Landa with a pin in 1:26 at 160;
Brad Raine with a fall in 2:30 at 171; Jon Enciso with a pin in 1:42
at 189; and heavyweight Phil Gerard was a 12-1 major decision victor.
Also with winner’s credentials were Kyle Codey at 140 with a win
by forfeit; and Geoff Pietrok, who won because of a disqualification.
The Sailors are 3-3 overall as they look toward next week’s Sea
View League opener against visiting Aliso Niguel Thursday night.
