CM American tryouts Saturday

The Costa Mesa American Little League is holding tryouts and

registration for the spring 2003 season Saturday at Costa Mesa High

from 9 a.m. to noon.

All boys and girls ages 5-12 are welcome to register for T-ball or

baseball. Players ages 8-12 and wishing to play in the Major, Minor A

or Minor B divisions must try out. Tryouts for 11- and 12-year-olds

are at 9 a.m., 10-year-olds at 10 a.m., 9-year-olds at 11 a.m. and

8-year-olds at noon.

Players should arrive 20 minutes before their scheduled tryout

time to warm up and check in. If the player has not already

registered, they should arrive 30 minutes early. Tryouts and

registration will be held at the Major field located behind the

tennis courts at Costa Mesa High. T-ball, Coach Pitch and Farm

division players (ages 5-7) and returning Major players do not need

to try out.

Registration fees for T-ball and Coach Pitch players (ages 5-6)

are $75, for players ages 7-12 fees are $95. Each player receives a

uniform, pictures and plays in an 18-28 game season, depending on

player’s age. Financial assistance is available. New players need to

bring the player’s birth certificate and proof of residency within

the league’s boundaries (a utility bill or parent’s driver’s

license).

On Saturday, Jan. 18, a make-up tryout and registration day will

be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for all players unable to attend this

Saturday. Games begin in March.
