UCI men victorious

The UC Irvine men’s swimming and diving team captured the 23rd

annual Daktronics/UC Irvine Invitational Relay Meet Sunday in the

Anteaters’ pool.

The Nevada Wolf Pack won the women’s division with 391 points,

while UCI finished second with 329.

In the men’s meet, UCI won three of 10 events and finished with

608 points. Texas Christian won the other seven events, but was

second with 552 points. Cal Poly was third with 262 points and Stony

Brook fourth with 113.

UCI displayed depth throughout the meet, while winning the 3 X 100

breaststroke (2:56.94), 800 freestyle (7:18.97) and 400 medley

(3:29.73) relays.

The Anteaters will host the UC San Diego men’s team and the Fresno

State women’s team Saturday at noon.
