Woman in critical condition after fall

A 30-year-old woman sustained major head injuries when she fell

out of a second story window in Newport Beach early Sunday morning,

police said.

While visiting friends in the 2000 block of Walnut Street, the

woman, whose name was not released, was believed to have been

bouncing and spinning on a bed near a window. The woman, who

officials say may have been intoxicated, was propelled out the

adjacent window due to her momentum and sustained major head

injuries, said Sgt. Rob Morton of the Newport Beach Police

Department.

The woman was transported to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo

where she underwent surgery and remains in critical condition.
