Anteater standouts shine at swimfest

The UC Irvine Anteaters won the men’s and women’s distance meet as
part of the 23rd annual UC Irvine/Daktronics Inivational Saturday.
Cal Baptist swimmer Felix Sutanto won four events, the 100-yard
backstroke (50.91), the 200 individual medley (1:54.17), 100
butterfly (51.36) and the 200 back (1:51.57).
Phil Garcia of UCI won the 100 free (46.09) and the 50 free
(21.45). Bomb Pattanasinth in the 200 fly (1:55.54) and junior Brian
Kim ( in the 200 breaststroke (2:08.94) were also UCL winners. UCI
divers Evan Mitchell and Melissa Milmine were third and second,
respectively.
In the women’s competition Alyssa Chin of Nevada won four events
for the Wolf Pack. Chin won the 100 back (58.34), the 200 individual
medley (2:07.52), the 100 free (52.88) and the 200 back (2:05.42).
UCI’s Lara Bjargardottir won the 200 free (1:53.19).
