SATURDAY
* Main Beach: A resident found two seagulls tied together with
fishing line at 10:52 a.m.
* Morningside Drive: A resident reported a deer with a broken leg
in the 1200 block at 10:27 a.m. An Animal Services official took it
for treatment.
* Laguna Canyon Road: Officers received a call about a transient
demanding to enter a party in the 600 block at 1:02 p.m.
* Legion/Glenneyre streets: Firefighters responded to an oven
fire near the intersection at 2:51 p.m.
SUNDAY
* Cliff Drive: Residents reported that a radio playing at a car
wash was too loud in the 300 block at 1:32 p.m.
* South Coast Highway: A resident called police after a person
began throwing up on his car in the 30000 block at 2:26 p.m.
* Forest Avenue: An officer was called to a minor traffic dispute
in the 400 block at 7:48 p.m.
* Cypress Drive: A resident reported a problem with a neighbor in
the 400 block at 9:45 p.m. The neighbor’s car was blocking her
driveway and she uses the garage for storage.
* South Coast Highway: Drivers contacted police about a minor
traffic collision in the drive-through line at a fast food restaurant
in the 1200 block at 11:27 p.m.
MONDAY
* La Mirada Street: A construction crew reported a white great
Dane with black spots on the loose in the 1100 block at 9:18 a.m.
They tied it to a pole for Animal Services to find.
* Ocean Avenue: A pigeon was responsible for a power outage in
the 200 block at 10:28 a.m. Power was restored.
* Capistrano/Tia Juana streets: A resident reported kids driving
in a vehicle throwing firecrackers out the window near the
intersection at 5:24 p.m.
* Balboa Avenue: Police responded to a domestic dispute in the
900 block at 10:17 p.m. The wife allegedly came home and found her
husband intoxicated. She reportedly punched him in the face and was
arrested on suspicion of spousal abuse.
TUESDAY
* Glenneyre Street: A store owner reported that three women left
his store without paying for beer and wine in the 800 block at 1:25
a.m. Officers found them and brought them back to the store where
they paid for the merchandise.
* El Toro Road/Laguna Canyon Road: A witness called police when
he saw a vehicle crash through a road sign and fence near the
intersection at 1:43 a.m. The 33-year-old Irvine driver was
transported to Mission Hospital for a cut to his forehead and a
contusion to one of his eyes. He was later arrested on suspicion of
driving under the influence.
* Summit Way: A resident reported that eight cars were parked on
both sides of the road in the 900 block at 8:36 a.m. He felt that it
would be difficult for emergency vehicles to drive through.
Construction crew members moved the cars.
* Forest Avenue: Four suede jackets were reported stolen in the
300 block at 11 a.m. The total value was estimated at $208.
* Cypress Street: Two potted plants were taken from a resident’s
backyard in the 400 block at 12:07 p.m.
WEDNESDAY
* Victoria Beach: A resident reported hearing divers in distress
50 feet off the shore at 12:17 a.m. It turned out they were OK. They
thought they had seen a shark.
* Ocean Avenue: Officers responded to a fight in the 200 block at
1:20 a.m. One of the parties fled and was stopped near Emerald Bay.
The 23-year-old San Clemente resident was arrested on three warrants
out of Harbor Court and two out of South Court. The charges were for
being under the influence of alcohol, false information, hit-and-run
and driving with a suspended driver’s license. He was transported to
Orange County Jail.
