THE NEWS
A man walking along the cliffs at Cameo Shores fell into the water
on Saturday and sustained moderate injuries, Newport Beach lifeguards
said.
The fall occurred at 11:56 a.m. as the man walked along the cliffs
behind a residence at 4615 Brighton Road, authorities said.
The man remained unidentified as of press time.
After falling about 15 feet from the precipice, the man landed on
the rocks below. He sustained several broken bones and minor
bleeding, lifeguard dispatcher Mark Herman said.
Two-to four-foot waves splashed onto the rocks as lifeguards
plucked the man into a boat and delivered him to medics. He was
transported to the Western Medical Center in Santa Ana.
