Police arrest nude sunbather

A nude sunbather was arrested after she slapped an officer when he

asked her to put her clothes on.

Officer Joe Torres was patrolling Sleepy Hollow Beach at 2:37 p.m.

on Wednesday when he said he observed Therese French, 36, of San

Francisco laying on her back topless and wearing black sheer panties.

“He requested that she put her clothes on because it was illegal

to sunbathe in the nude,” said Sgt. Darin Lenyi.

Torres also advised that children and adults were staring at her.

She allegedly said to Torres, “What’s the problem? Aren’t you

enjoying this?”

After numerous requests for her to put her clothes on and for her

identification, French handed over her driver’s license. Torres

advised her that it was expired and that he would return it to the

DMV.

“At that point she became very irate and started yelling at him,”

Lenyi said.

French, still not clothed, allegedly smacked Torres on the arm and

pushed his bicycle down. She was arrested for assaulting a police

officer and transported to Orange County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.
