* Type of worship: The worship service is contemporary, designed,
according to Pastor Chip Crosby, to facilitate a heartfelt and
spirit- empowered experience. He says: “When people worship God from
their hearts, Jesus promises to be present in their midst and to
demonstrate his power and love in real, tangible ways, such as
answering prayer, changing lives and bringing health. This is never
boring and always joyful.”
* Type of sermon: Crosby teaches from the Bible, book by book. He
aims to make its truths become interesting, understandable and
practical.
* Recent and upcoming sermons: Pastor Chip Crosby is presenting a
sermon series on the life and teachings of the apostle Paul titled
“Follow Me as I Follow Christ.”
* Visitor information: Visitors are warmly welcomed and allowed
to be themselves. They are encouraged to take their time to discover
what the church is about and to grow at their own pace.
* Dress: California casual
* Church design: The congregation is in the process of thoroughly
remodeling its historic church building to make it a more beautiful
place for worship and a more comfortable setting for congregants to
enjoy each other’s friendship. The building has some unique
architectural features that have been enhanced and emphasized in the
remodeling. Some of its facilities have been modernized to offer
better creature comforts.
* Mission statement: “Come and see that Jesus Christ is real.
Everything else follows from that discovery. Therefore, we want to be
known as a place where biblical, balanced, authentic Christianity is
demonstrated in an atmosphere permeated with Christ’s love,
acceptance and forgiveness.”
* Interesting note: Crosby is a professor at LIFE Pacific Bible
College in San Dimas. In that role, he recently published a book
about biblical prophecies concerning the Second Coming of Christ,
titled “The Door of Judgment.” He is teaching at the church from this
book at 7 p.m. Wednesdays.
