The Newport-Mesa area, like the rest of Orange County, can expect rain
today through Tuesday, meteorologists say.
A series of low pressure areas are expected to move from off the
Southern California coast through Tuesday, said Brad Boyle, meteorologist
for the National Weather Service in San Diego.
“It will remain mostly cloudy through the weekend,” he said. “We’ll
also get showers on and off.”
The rain, though unseasonable this late in spring, is quite welcome,
Doyle said.
“The amount of rainfall we’ve been getting, especially, is unusual,”
he said. “But considering we’ve had practically no rain all year, this is
good.”
In the last day, the area has received about two-tenths of an inch of
rainfall, Doyle said. Temperatures are also likely to remain on the
cooler side with highs in the mid-60s and lows in the 40s, he said.
