Boys volleyball: CdM spikers split

SANTA BARBARA - The Corona del Mar High boys volleyball team
bounced back from a 15-2, 15-3, 13-15, 15-8 loss to Bullard High of
Fresno by defeating Granite Bay of Northern California, 15-3, 15-8,
15-12, on the opening day of the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions at
two locations Friday.
The win over Granite Bay, keyed by 11 kills each from Eric Jones and
Ryan Inman, as well as 24 assists by Spencer Miller, propelled the Sea
Kings into today’s 11 a.m. consolation semifinal against Nevada Union at
Dos Pueblos High.
If victorious, the Sea Kings would play the consolation final tonight
at 7 at Santa Barbara High.
Against Bullard, Kevin Welch led the Sea Kings with 14 kills, while
teammate Miles Yourman added six.
