Prep softball: Eagles turned away, 6-1

COSTA MESA - The Estanica High softball team held on to a 1-0 lead

through the first two innings, but could not make it stand and lost to

nonleague visitor Tesoro Tuesday.

Estancia junior Karleen Curran went 2 for 4 and scored the Eagles’

lone run in the first inning. The Eagles dropped to 2-8, while Tesoro

improved to 11-8.

The Eagles will resume Pacific Coast League action today at 3:15 p.m.,

when they host Corona del Mar.
