A Huntington Beach woman, later arrested on suspicion of drunk
driving, was injured in a crash involving a police car Monday.
Cynthia Gouin was treated and released Monday from Huntington Beach
Hospital for pain in her neck and head from her run in with police.
She collided with a police car at 4:10 p.m. Monday at the intersection
of Warner Avenue and Gothard Street in Huntington Beach, said Lt. William
Stuart of the Huntington Beach Police Department.
Gouin was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and
given a notice to appear in court, said California Highway Patrol
officials.
She was driving westbound on Warner and didn’t stop for officer Scott
Marsh who was traveling north on Gothard in a marked car with its lights
and siren on to assist another officer at a traffic stop, Stuart said.
Marsh’s car hit the driver’s side of Gouin’s car causing moderate
damage to both vehicles, Stuart said.
