Glover becomes air quality district chair

Newport Beach City Councilwoman Norma Glover is the South Coast Air

Quality Management District’s new governing board chairman. A longtime

member of the board, Glover took over the chairmanship when she replaced

William Burke last week.

Toys for Tots fund-raiser nets $30,000

A fund-raiser at the Four Seasons Hotel Newport Beach has netted about

$30,000 and 600 toys collected for Toys for Tots. By purchasing “real

estate” in the hotel’s elaborate Gingerbread Village, donors amassed more

than $30,000 for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Campaign. Others donated

an estimated three sleigh loads of toys to the charity.
