Jennifer Schultz poured in four goals Saturday to lead the Yellow
Vipers to a 6-0 victory over the Poison Ivy in an AYSO Girls’ Under-10
Division match.
Justina Ibach and Makenna Henry also added goals, while Marissa
Schultz posted the shutout as goalkeeper.
Marina Erickson controlled the midfield area, and Elizabeth Unterbrink
also turned out a strong game defensively.
Poison Ivy was led by Holly Wisdom and McKenzie Dillon.
In other Girls’ Under-10 Division matches:
Red Hot Chili Peppers 3, Tiger Sharks 2
Brooke Hitchcock scored two goals to lead the Red Hot Chili Peppers to
victory.
Alene Bitar scored one goal, and goalkeeper Shelby Fischer made
several key saves to preserve the win.
Kristen Nakatani’s play at fullback led the Peppers defensively.
Andrea Ecker scored two goals, Shayla Sharp played the midfield, and
Aaroni Amulmoli anchored the defense for the Tiger Sharks.
GIRLS’ CLUB DIVISION
Pier Pressure 1, Pacific 0
For the second consecutive week, Kelly Hyder scored the only goal to
lead the South Coast Pier Pressure at Edison High.
Dana Clarke recorded her third consecutive shutout in goal, getting
help from defenders Lauren Ardis, Erin Benton and Alex Dunn.
The victory puts Pier Pressure at 3-2-3 for the season.

GIRLS’ UNDER-10 DIVISION
Wave Runners 6, Tsunami Surfer Chicks 0
Kelly O’Leary scored two goals and goalie Nicole Goodman recorded the
shutout as the Wave Runners blanked a short-handed Tsunami Surfer Chicks
squad on a rain-soaked field at Peterson School.
O’Leary scored both of her goals in the opening period, and Rachel
Pasternak added another score for a 3-0 first-quarter lead. Goals by
Patty Keleher and Ashley Brown gave the Wave Runners a 5-0 halftime lead.
A steal by Amy Rogers in the second half set up an Alexa Enlow score
for a 6-0 lead.
BOYS’ UNDER-14 DIVISION
Silver Studs 6, United 5
Striker Tamino Tran knocked in five goals as the Silver Studs out of
Region 56 edged a strong Region 55 United squad.
Tran’s early hat trick pushed the Silver Studs into a 3-2
second-quarter lead, but United came up with a strong rally to score
twice to forge a 4-3 advantage.
The game continued to seesaw in the second half before Tran’s fourth
goal evened the score at a tie at 4, and Joe McGarry scored on a penalty
kick to give back the lead the Silver Studs, 5-4. A penalty kick allowed
United to tie the game again, but Tran’s final score of the day provided
the Silver Studs with their winning margin.
