Club soccer: OCU Rush win two over weekend

The Orange Coast United Rush, a girls under-12 club soccer team had
little trouble in its two wins this past weekend.
On Saturday, the Rush knocked off Riverside’s PSC Power, 5-0, behind
Courtney Anderson’s two goals. Jaque Anderson, Brittany Koster and Elyse
VanLeer each had single goals, while goalkeeper Tori Rocke kept the Power
off the scoreboard.
On Sunday, the Rush defeated the Arsenal Red Club of Ontario, 6-0.
Koster had two goals, while Robin Ibbetson, Samantha Castillo, Amy
Staudinger and Sasha Key each added single tallies.
Leading the Rush’s defense was Amanda Shaw, Amy Studinger, Samantha
Castillo, Cindy Mendoza, Jennifer Powell, Chelsea Wisdom and Brianna
Baker.
In other club soccer action:
The OCU Sting, a boys under 19 team, won its fourth in a row with a
5-2 win over the Celtic Soccer Club.
B.J. Vandrovec had two goals, while Billy Lund, Ryan Lancaster and
Brian Walton each had one goal.
The defense was led by Bijan Ewalt, Troy Davidson, Brian Henry and
goalkeeper Scott Nickerson, while Jose Perez, Chasen Marshall, Brendan
Fenno, David Jenkins, Justin Collins and Jeff Kinkopf.
