Spa and Salon Gregorie’s are getting “hands on” in the fight against

breast cancer by hosting the second annual Massage-a-thon and Cut-a-thon

for the Cure. The two events will be held Sept. 24 at the ninth annual

Komen Orange County Race for the Cure and at the Salon and Spa at 200

Newport Center Drive in Fashion Island. At the race, the Massage-a-thon

pavilion will be set up at the start/finish line in front of the Pacific

Life building at 700 Newport Center Drive. Salon and Spa Gregorie’s hope

to raise more than $10,000 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer

Foundation to further efforts in breast cancer research, education,

screening and treatment. Stylists and therapists at the Salon and Spa

will be on hand to provide services for racers and non-racers alike -- at

discounted prices. Haircuts, customarily $50-plus, will be offered at

$25. Massages, regularly $75 per hour, will be $1 per minute at the race.

All services include a free gift of health and beauty products for the

client. Reservations for haircuts are recommended and may be made by
