SOUTH BEACH PHASE I RENOVATIONS

Here’s a rundown of what will be done:

* repaving and creating an additional 20 stalls for a future

1,392-space parking lot;

* widening and removing utility boxes from a multipurpose path to

provide better safety for recreational users and people in wheelchairs;

* building 30-inch sand walls as barriers for the parking lot,

restrooms and concession areas;

* replacing existing showers;

* planting an additional 248 palm trees for a total of 380 trees;

* replacing two existing single-sex restrooms with two new unisex

restrooms;* replacing an existing half-court basketball area with two new

half courts;

* creating two art displays that will showcase concrete structures

designed as sea shells.
