COSTA MESA - Jennifer Shaver, a 1998 graduate of Newport Harbor
High who played soccer at Cypress College last season, has signed a
letter of intent to attend Vanguard University in the fall, according to
former Lions’ coach Scott Dameron.
Shaver, a starting defender for the Chargers last year, helped the squad
to a 27-0-0 record and a National Junior College Athletic Association
National Championship.
Dameron said Shaver will have three years of eligibility to play for the
Lions.
Dameron will leave VU to coach at Bakersfield College next year. The new
coach has yet to be determined.
