Athlete of the Month: Gomez captured community college state titles in
the 3,000-, 5,000- and 10,000-meter runs for the Pirates. In her two
years, Gomez won six Orange Empire Conference titles, five Southern
California titles and four state titles in track and field as well as
numerous cross country championships. She was named OCC’s Female Athlete
of the Year for the second year in a row.
