HB Lightning tops at Top Gun Tournament

The HB Lightning, a girls Under-14 Division soccer team out of AYSO

Region 143 (Westminster/Huntington Beach), captured first place in the

10th annual Top Gun Tournament held over Memorial Day Weekend in San

Diego.

The Lightning advanced from their pool into the medal round, scoring two

of their more impressive wins over El Cajon (4-0) and Redlands (3-0). In

the semifinal round, the Lightning won a hard-fought battle from San

Pedro (Region 6), winning, 1-0.

The title match pitted the Lightning against cross-town rival South

Huntington Beach (Region 56), where the Lightning wrapped up the title by

virtue of a 2-0 victory.

In their six tournament games, the Lightning outscored the opposition,

12-2.

Members of the HB Lightning include Jessica Abdou, Megan Bell, Shauna

Brown, Tara Fox, Aubrie Fuette, Jessica Goud, Tori Heglar, Gena Johnson,

Nina Kratter, Caitlin McGinnis, Ann-Marie Osgood, Janet Peterson, Hilary

Pohlman, Lindsey Rodgers, and Lauren Stimmler.
