Devil Rays, Reds, Mets hit double digits in easy victories

The Devil Rays, Reds, and Mets all posted easy victories Thursday

at Mile Square Park, each scoring in double figures to highlight play in

the Minor A Division.

Devil Rays 16, Angels 6

Kyle Yoakum doubled twice with two RBI, Kevin Smisko singled twice with

three RBI, Jared Case had a two-run single, Jason Gorman had a hit and

RBI, Justin Sugamura had an RBI, and Joey Reyes added an RBI single for

the Devil Rays.

Mitchell Tezak singled and doubled and Eric Hamilton also doubled for the

Angels.

Reds 17, Orioles 6

Joe Fried singled and doubled, Doug Hansen had two RBI, Daniel Castle and

Garrett Dejong each drove in a run, and Mitch Myers and Kevin Osaki each

had two hits and two RBI to power the Reds.

Andrew Brown had two hits and Jerry Lewis and Brenton McCarthy each had

an RBI to lead the Orioles.

Mets 15, Diamondbacks 1

Brett Hill singled, tripled and drove in three runs, Andrew Stadnick had

a single and two-run triple, Taylor Fah hit three singles and had an RBI,

Eric Herman doubled, Billy Bintner had two hits and an RBI, and Gabriel

Rubio and Jeremy Scheman each had a hit and RBI for the Mets.

Jordan Fernandez tapped an RBI double and Jonathan Telles singled and

doubled for the Diamondbacks.

IN MINOR B DIVISION ACTION:

Angels 8, Devil Rays 1

Pitchers Magic Lucio and Loren Robb limited the Devil Rays to a single

hit (a single by Shaun Moore) and struck out 12, and each figured in the

Angels’ offensive attack as Lucio produced an RBI double, and Robb, an

RBI single.

Braves 17, Dodgers 14

The Braves broke a 14-14 tie by scoring three runs in the sixth inning.

Michael James singled twice and had an inside-the-park home run, Chris

VanBuuren singled twice and doubled, Cody Heath and Alfred Holliman both

singled and doubled, Joe Negri and Eric Martinez both doubled, and Logan

Kendig, Marty Levers, and James Dean Hinson each singled twice for the

Braves.

Brian Enoka, Niles Marquez, and Garrett Olson all singled twice for the

Dodgers.

Mets 3, Reds 1 Pitchers Chris Hale and Kyle Ball scattered three hits and struck out 14

to pace the Mets’ victory. In defeat, Mike Elmore and Brittany Schutte

pitched a solid game for the Reds as they held the Mets to just two hits.

Neil Mira had both Mets hits, including a single and a two-run

inside-the-park home run.

Justin Kail singled twice and Vince Parker singled to account for the

Reds’ offense.

Yankees 15, Royals 13

The Yankees capped a late rally by scoring five runs in the top of the

sixth inning to claim a 15-11 lead, then hung on for the win.

Tyler Buckles singled twice and doubled with an RBI, Alex Van Roeckel had

a two-RBI single, and Jake Jerulle and Sean Hakam both had an RBI single

to lead the Yankees.

Elton Stolze singled and doubled with three RBI, Ray Strazzulla had a

two-RBI triple, Mike Coelho had an RBI double, and Colton Macy singled

twice for the Royals.
