CM PONY: Crom leads Diamondbacks to victory

COSTA MESA - Cullen Crom had a strong all-around performance for
the Diamondbacks of the Costa Mesa PONY League in their 9-4 win over the
Corona del Mar Reds in interleague action.
As a pitcher, Crom tossed a complete game, striking out 15. As a hitter, he smacked a long home run to spark the D-Backs’ offense.
Adam Jorgensen had three hits and scored three times, while Caley-Ryan
Carr and Marcus Fernandez each started rallies with key hits.
In other PONY interleague action:
The CM Mariners 10, Braves 5 - Daniel Cooper knocked off the Braves by
pitching six strong innings before Gary Gonzalez struck out the side in
the seventh.
Strong offense was contributed by Daniel Parabes, Kyle Allen and Gary
Strawn.
CM Indians 3, CdM Dodgers 2 - Greg Hughes allowed just three hits in a
complete-game win for the Indians.
Tyler Herried had a triple and two runs scored to lead the Indians’
offense, while catcher Colin McGuire threw out two Dodger runners to lead
the defense.
CM Marlins 4, CdM Angels 3 - Kris Hartwell had two hits and two RBIs,
while Matt Schirmer added a triple and double for the Marlins in their
win over the Angels.
Marlin pitcher Josh Kornegay scattered four hits over six innings before
Brett Via tossed a scoreless seventh inning.
