Men’s basketball: Castleton staying in area

COSTA MESA - Orange Coast College standout men’s basketball player,
David Castleton, will continue his collegiate career at Cal State
Fullerton next season.
Castleton, who led the Pirates in scoring at 22.6 points per game, chose
the Titans primarily because of first-year coach Donnie Daniels.
Daniels was an assistant for Rick Majerus at the University of Utah for a
number of seasons. “He knows a lot about the game,” Castleton said. “I
wanted to play for a coach that would make me a better basketball player
and I think that he can do that.”
Castleton chose Fullerton over a number of Division I schools like Fresno
State, the University of Wisconsin, Providence and Loyola Marymount. He
should see substantial minutes for the Titans, another big factor in his
decision.
“Being a JC player the past two years, I wanted to go to a school where I
would find a lot of minutes right away,” Castleton said. “Coach Daniels
and I have talked about that and I’m excited about being a part of his
program.”
