Girls soccer: Sailors get doubled-up by Dana Hills

COSTA MESA - Amy Burlingham had a goal and an assist for Newport
Harbor girls’ soccer team, but the Sailors fell to Dana Hills, 4-2,
Tuesday in nonleague action at the Harper Community Center.
Burlingham’s goal came in the 38th minute of the second half on a
penalty kick, while her assist came on a goal by Liz Manchester in the
19th minute of the second half for the Sailors (0-2-1).
Meredith Miller and Emily Eastmond led the Sailors’ defense, while Amy
Niles and Heather Metcalf combined for nine goalie saves for Newport.
Next up for the Sailors is a trip across the Back Bay to take on host
Corona del Mar Thursday at 3:15 p.m.
