Sailors win, 59-52

BUENA PARK - Newport Harbor High sophomore point guard Greg

Perrine, in his varsity boys basketball debut, hit 5 of 7 free throws in

the fourth quarter to help the Sailors hold off Magnolia, 59-52, in the

first round of pool play at the Coyote Classic at Buena Park High.

Aaron Yarnal had 23 points and Dustin Illingworth added 17 for the

winners, who continue with pool play Thursday at 5:45 p.m. against

Downey.

Perrine finished with seven points and John Murray took three charges for

the Tars (1-0).
