Flames nip Roughnecks

Ever since suffering a season opening loss to the Roughnecks, the
Flames have been tearing up their Norris Division rivals.
Last weekend, they rolled up their seventh consecutive victory and in
the process, evened the season’s score with the Roughnecks, whom they
defeated, 5-4, at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.
Tyler Lakes scored three goals and ran his team-high season total to 24
goals scored as the Flames improved their division-leading ledger to 7-1.
Jared Hackworth provided the two other goals, and both Kyle Power and
Kyle Rohan each recorded an assist as the Flames atoned for a 10-0 loss
to the Roughnecks back on July 7.
Flames goalie Shane Lakes also helped his club stay in control by
turning away 17 shot attempts by the Roughnecks.
Travis Benson scored twice and both Richard Davis and Kevin Ewing each
scored once as the Roughnecks suffered their third consecutive setback in
falling to 3-3 overall.

Hat Trix 3, Sabres 1
Brian Daigneault scored a goal and Justin Romers provided an assist for
Hat Trix, which won its third straight match to improve to 4-1-2 overall;
Shaun Jennings scored once for the Sabres, who dropped their fifth
straight in falling to 2-5.
Stars 7, Sharks 0
Kevin Cant scored three goals, Adam Lamotte scored twice, and goalie
Ben Hynes stopped 13 shot attempts to power the Stars, who improved to
4-2-1; the loss left the Sharks with a 1-6 mark.
Slickshoes 3, Hornets 3
Single goals went out to Taylor Urieta, Brandon Bauman, and David Loy,
goalie Mark Miller stopped 27 shot attempts, and Loy also picked up an
assist as the Slickshoes moved to 2-4-1; Michael Kelly, Jason Moore, and
Ramiro Pimentel all scored, Robert Brothers had an assist, and goalie
Patrick Lacy joined his Slickshoes counterpart by also recording 27 saves
for the Hornets (3-2-1).
