Two people were hospitalized with moderate burns after a fire Wednesday morning in Huntington Beach’s Marina Park, the Fire Department said.
Firefighters responded to the park, adjacent to Marina High School, just before 11 a.m. The fire occurred in a park picnic area. The school was unaffected, Fire Department spokesman Eric McCoy said.
The fire was knocked down in five minutes and the two victims were taken to burn centers, McCoy said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, the Fire Department said.
