Laguna Beach sewage spill causes shoreline closure

A sewage spill Wednesday has closed 500 feet of shoreline in Laguna Beach, healthcare officials said.
About 300 gallons of sewage spilled because of a blocked sewer main, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.
Officials closed the water to swimmers in an area 250 feet upcoast and 250 feet downcoast of Upland Road.
The water will reopen after follow-up testing confirms bacteria levels have returned to state standards, the health agency said.
