Former H.B. man sentenced to 219 years in prison for sexually assaulting four girls

A former Huntington Beach man was sentenced Friday to 219 years in state prison for sexually assaulting four girls in a 17-year span.

An Orange County Superior Court jury in November found Martin Rodriguez Garcia, 51, guilty of 15 counts of lewd acts on a child under 14, two counts of assault with intent to commit rape, a count of assault with the intent to commit digital penetration, a count of lewd acts on a child and a count of aggravated sexual assault of a child, according to court records.

Prosecutors said the victims’ ages ranged from 6 to 14. The assaults occurred between 1994 and 2011.

In 2015, one of the victims reported the abuse to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

After an investigation, Garcia was arrested in May in Las Vegas, where he was living.
