Authorities ID 91-year-old man who died in Fountain Valley fire

Authorities have identified the 91-year-old man who died in a fire at his residence in Fountain Valley as Joseph Duras.
Fountain Valley police and fire personnel were dispatched to the home in the 18000 block of Plumosa Street just after 7 p.m. Tuesday after a resident who was home at the time called to report the blaze, authorities said.

After extinguishing the flames, firefighters discovered that a man — Duras, according to the Orange County coroner’s office — had died, police said. The coroner estimated his time of death as 7:10 p.m.
The fire appeared to be an accident, according to police. However, the investigation was continuing Thursday.
Another resident — a woman police previously identified as Duras’ wife — was not injured in the fire.
