Margaret Morrison<br/>April 8, 1920 - May 10, 2014

Margaret Susan Morrison passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 10, 2014. Margaret was born on April 8, 1920 in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Canada. She was the daughter of the late Frank Burke and Agnes Burke. It was in 1945 that she captured the eye of the dashing Joseph Edward Morrison who had recently returned from England, having served his country in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Margaret married Joe in 1946, and they were an amazing pair for 62 years!

Margaret was a loving and devoted mother to daughter, Barbara and son-in-law Steve Piuma of Woodside, CA; daughter, Patricia and son-in-law Henry Bikhazi of Newport Beach, CA; son, Joe and daughter-in-law Deseree Morrison of Newport Beach, CA; daughter, Louella and son-in-law Tim Hartig of Nosara, Costa Rica. She will be greatly missed by her eleven grandchildren: Joshua and Christian Piuma; Nadim, Paul, Vanessa and Kevin Bikhazi; Kelly, Caitlin and Benjamin Morrison; Aaron and Hayley Peirsol, and six great grandchildren, Maximillian, Giana, Marissa, Lauren, Olivia and Noah Bikhazi. She was their beloved “Grammy.” Margaret was an involved and caring mother and grandmother. We will forever treasure her grace and genuine kindness, wonderful stories, quick comical outspoken humor, infinite memory, unlimited capacity for love and forgiveness and love of laughter, her elegant style, indisputable charm, authenticity, and love of nature and her beloved Mira River. Margaret and Joe spent many a summer vacationing at The Mira, where they so enjoyed spending time with their many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Above all, we will remember what a cherished wife and mother, proud grandmother and loyal friend she was to so many. We will miss her greatly!

A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held on Saturday, May 24th, 2014 at 11:00 at St. John Vianney Chapel, 314 Marine Ave., Balboa Island, CA.
