Coastal Commission to consider live-work and Ranch appeals

The California Coastal Commission will consider appeals of two projects proposed for Laguna Beach at its Jan. 8 public meeting in Santa Monica.

On the agenda are sculptor Louis Longi’s 30-unit artist live-work project in Laguna Canyon and Laguna Beach Golf & Bungalow Village LLC’s hotel renovation plan at the Ranch at Laguna Beach, in Aliso Canyon.

Commission staff has concerns about each project but in both cases has suggested approval with conditions.

Staff reports for both projects are available on the commission’s website, coastal.ca.gov.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. at the Santa Monica Civic Center, 1855 Main St., Santa Monica. Hearings on both appeals will take place after the public comments.
