Military veterans who call American Legion Post 291 in Newport Beach a home were treated to Valentine’s Day cards Wednesday, courtesy of area schoolchildren and other members of the community.

Alexander Gonzales, a Navy veteran who now serves as a military and veterans’ liaison for U.S. Rep. Harley Rouda (D-Laguna Beach), presented the cards during the post’s monthly general meeting.
