Karla Marie Sanford is a reporting fellow at the Los Angeles Times. Previously, she worked at the Washington Post as a reporter on the General Assignment and Well+Being teams. In May 2024, she graduated from Columbia Journalism School. Before Columbia, she studied English at Yale University, where she was the editor in chief of the Yale Daily News Magazine. She is originally from Atlanta and takes pride in making a mean sweet potato pie.
