Earthquake: 3.6 quake strikes near Yucca Valley

A shallow magnitude 3.6 earthquake was reported Thursday morning three miles from Yucca Valley, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 10:02 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 1.2 mile.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was nine miles from Desert Hot Springs, 18 miles from Palm Springs and 18 miles from Twentynine Palms.
In the past 10 days, there have been 10 earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
