México — Los problemas de reflujo gastroesofágico se pueden complicar durante las fiestas decembrinas debido al consumo excesivo de alimentos y bebidas, por lo que resulta imprescindible moderarse, señaló hoy un especialista en Ciudad de México.
“Los episodios de reflujo muchas veces se minimizan y se agravan con el consumo excesivo de alimentos y bebidas en las fiestas decembrinas que pueden tener algunas veces desenlaces fatales”, advirtió el doctor Erik Rebolledo mediante un comunicado.
El cirujano gastroenterólogo dijo que se calcula que cerca de la mitad de la población mexicana adulta padece reflujo gastroesofágico, una enfermedad que puede complicarse cuando se dan los “atracones” de alimentos y bebidas.

“Es común ver en los servicios de urgencias pacientes que acuden por abusos en las cenas que provocan reflujo, indigestión, gastritis y elevan los niveles de glucosa lo que provoca descompensación en las personas”, abundó el especialista del Hospital Ángeles Metropolitano de esta capital.

La enfermedad por reflujo gastroesofágico, conocida también como ERGE, se caracteriza por la regurgitación de los jugos gástricos que van del estómago al esófago, lo que causa irritación interna y sensación de quemadura en la garganta y boca.
El especialista recordó que el exceso de alcohol, picante, postres y alimentos ricos en grasa pueden complicar los cuadros de la enfermedad.
Incluso detalló que una persona puede llegar a consumir hasta 3.000 calorías diarias durante la fiesta navideña, lo cual puede provocar problemas como la indigestión, gastritis, agruras y elevación en los niveles de glucosa.
Finalmente, Rebolledo dijo que en estas fiestas navideñas se debe tener cuidado con los alimentos que se ingieren, controlando la obesidad, el tabaquismo y evitando cenas copiosas para disfrutar de estas fechas y no tener que acudir a servicios de urgencia por los excesos.
