LAKESIDE — A man who admitted to a carjacking at Barona Casino in Lakeside after assaulting a valet pleaded guilty Wednesday and was sentenced to five years and eight months in prison.
Kirill Rybarev, 25, of Santee also pleaded guilty to felony battery on a peace officer, Sheriff’s Department officials said.
Rybarev stole an Acura sedan Jan. 9 from in front of the casino. The attendant had pulled up with the car and opened the door for a woman to get in when he stepped up and punched the valet in the face, Sgt. Tom Poulin said.
Rybarev was spotted the next morning at a friend’s house in Santee on Molina Street. It took five deputies and a Taser to subdue him and take him into custody.
Rybarev, who sports distinctive devil horn tattoos on the top of his head, appeared to have been under the influence of drugs and was raving that he wanted to fight the deputies to the death, Poulin said.
The stolen Acura, which had been fitted with a license plate taken from a car earlier in El Cajon, was found parked in front of the house, Poulin said.
The deputy district attorney in the case called Rybarev an “extremely dangerous person,” and credited Santee sheriff’s detectives in his arrest and conviction.
