CHULA VISTA — An amorous man and woman are awaiting their day in court after police ticketed them last week for treating the entryway of a dress shop like a bedroom in an X-rated movie.
Chula Vista police said an employee at Christina’s Fashion called them on Feb. 10 about 3:30 p.m. when the couple started having sex in front of the Palomar Street business. The caller said the man’s pants were down and the woman’s legs were in the air, said Lt. Buddy Magor.
“There was a detective in the area and he witnessed their passionate moments,” Magor said.
The man, 20, and the woman, 38, were ticketed for committing a lewd act in public, the lieutenant said. The man was then arrested on suspicion of violating his probation.
A long-time employee at the shop said the place was busy with teenagers when she and another employee saw the couple move their make-out session to the artificial grass in front of the store’s front door.
“They started hugging and kissing, but then the lady started kissing his tummy,” Ayal said. “When we saw that, we called security.”
When security didn’t arrive, they called police.
“We never see those things,” she said. “Especially here.”
Ayal said she helped usher customers to the back of the shop and requested people to leave through the back entrance while they waited for officers to arrive. The incident lasted about 25 minutes, she said.
Police later told them the couple had just met and were drunk, Ayal said.
