Turkey’s president said Tuesday that the Syrian border town of Kobani is about to fall to militants from the Islamic State group.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan made the comments during an address to Syrian refugees at a camp in Gaziantep province, near the border with Syria.

Erdogan said aerial bombardments alone may not be enough to stop the Islamic State and called for the support of those who are fighting the group in Syria.

Just days ago, Turkey said it wouldn’t let Kobani fall.
